Home care and cleanliness are part of our daily lives, but sometimes we don't realize that the solutions to the most annoying problems can actually be very easy. Even our grandmothers knew how to deal with stubborn dirt using simple and effective tricks without relying on expensive and aggressive chemicals. With a few easy steps, inspired by old but tried tips, your home will shine with cleanliness!

In this post I will share useful and tried and tested (some not) tips collected from various sources including magazines, internet and advice from our grandmothers. From the bathroom to the kitchen, from the tiles to the steam iron, there is a way to deal with every pesky pollutant in a simple yet effective way.   • The bathroom: To clean the joints between the tiles in the bathroom, the ear stick is dipped in bleach. The contaminated areas are rubbed with it, after which it is left to take effect and then washed off abundantly with water.
    - The tiles in the bathroom will shine again if you add ammonia to the water for washing them.
    - To make it smell nice, you can put a lemon or an apple cut in two in it.
  • Bath: Will shine if rubbed with a piece of cloth dipped in vinegar.
  • Limescale on the steam iron: Clean with a mixture of vinegar and water, then wipe with a wet cloth.
  • The burnt pot: It is cleaned by boiling vinegar and salt in it.
  • Soiled collar : Cleans perfectly if pre-treated with shampoo. It can be rubbed with a toothbrush. It stays for 15-20 minutes, after which the entire garment is washed.
  • Gold jewelry : They will shine again if they are rubbed with a cut lemon and after a few hours they are washed from the juice.
  • The faucet : When it drips, unpleasant yellow stains form on the sink. They can be removed by applying a little lemon juice.
  • The kitchen cabinets : It is on them that the layer of dirt is most visibly superimposed, which is formed by the fumes in the kitchen during cooking. If the cabinets are so high that their upper surface remains hidden from view, you can cover them with newspapers. You should replace them regularly after they have absorbed the dirt.
  • Ink stain on wood : Cleaned by washing with warm beer. The cleaned area, after drying, is rubbed with a light wax and polished to a shine with a soft woolen cloth.
  • Grease stains on clothes : Remove by dusting with talcum powder and washing immediately afterwards. Talc absorbs grease.
  • Greasy stains on parquet : Clean with oxygenated water mixed with a little ammonia.
  • Oil paintings : The crumbs of fresh dust are very suitable for cleaning them and refreshing the worlds on them. Then wipe with a damp cloth and let the paintings dry.
  • The microwave oven : While still hot, before the stains harden, sprinkle them with salt. After the oven cools down, they will be much easier to clean. Neither metal bottles nor any metal dishes or plates with a gilded edge should be placed in it. In order not to have an unpleasant smell from the various dishes, orange peels are placed in it and baked for a few minutes at 180 degrees.
  • Coffee stains : Old stains will disappear if we moisten them with glycerin before putting the clothes to wash. But if they are fresh, they are rinsed with lukewarm water. The stained place is washed with cold water, then it is left to soak for several hours in lemon juice diluted with water.
  • Stains from fruit juices : Stains from fruit juices are removed by treating with a mixture heated to 40 degrees for 2 years. citric acid and 20 g. 95% pure alcohol. Stains are dipped in the mixture and kept in it until they disappear completely.
  • Dust on books : You will get rid of it if you take the books outside and brush them with a clothes brush, then open and close them several times with a jerky motion.
  • Windows : They will be perfectly cleaned if a few drops of vinegar are added to the water. Then they are wiped with a rag. Especially in the city, dust is layered on the windows daily and even hourly. It won't stick as easily if you add a few drops of glycerin to the water while cleaning them.
  • Sweaters : To avoid catching moths, it is a good idea to inspect them and clean them of any stains before putting them in the wardrobe.
  • Spilled oil : It will be cleaned up easily if sprinkled with flour. After that, it is enough to sweep with a broom.
  • The grater : To make it easier to clean after use, oil it before use.
  • Heavily soiled curtains : Wash with soda. 500 g of it is dissolved in 10 liters of water. The curtains are soaked for 1 hour. Then they are washed.
  • Silverware : If it has been kept for a long time in a humid room, spots appear on it. We can remove them by rubbing them with a piece of cloth soaked in vinegar. Then we rinse and dry them.
  • Pans and pots : The grease from them will be removed more easily if they are wiped with absorbent paper before washing.
  • The toaster : Can be cleaned of stuck-on crumbs with a paint brush.
  • The refrigerator : To remove unpleasant odors in it, coffee grounds are placed in a bowl and kept in the refrigerator until it dries. Also, the bad smell in the refrigerator can be eliminated if a box of baking soda is placed in the chamber, near the ice compartment. It has to be changed every three months.
  • Colored woolen clothes : Wash with neutral soap. When they are rinsed, a little vinegar is added to the water. Then they are dried by wrapping in dry towels. They are ironed while they are still semi-wet.
  • Socks : They will not get dark stains from the shoes if the inside of the shoes is sprayed with hairspray.
