Rounding to the second decimal place is standard practice in financial calculations. For monetary values, arithmetic rounding to the second decimal place is used because this is how amounts are presented in almost all financial transactions and accounting practices.

Rounding rule

Art. 13. (1) In accordance with Articles 4 and 5 of Regulation (EC) No. 1103/97, following the conversion pursuant to Art. 12, the resulting amount shall be rounded to the second decimal place based on the third decimal place in accordance with the following mathematical rounding rule:

1. When the third digit after the decimal point is less than five, the second digit after the decimal point remains unchanged;
2. when the third digit after the decimal point is equal to or greater than five, the second digit after the decimal point is increased by one;
