Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Everything happens directly in your browser using the built-in Canvas API. Your image is loaded locally, re-encoded at the chosen quality and/or size, and a new file is generated — no bytes ever leave your device.

No. The tool is entirely client-side (browser JavaScript). No network request is made to our servers or anywhere else with your file content.

Currently: JPG, PNG and WebP, both as input and output. You can compress in the original format or convert to any of the three (e.g. PNG to WebP for a smaller file).

The current limit is 15 MB per file. The tool processes one image at a time.

The current version uses the browser's built-in Canvas encoder, which re-encodes PNG without palette quantization. We are working on an upgraded compression engine specifically for PNG that will bring results closer to tools like TinyPNG.

It controls the trade-off between file size and visual quality for JPEG and WebP compression. A lower value means a smaller file but more visible loss of detail. This parameter has no effect on PNG, since the format is lossless by nature.

Yes. Enter your desired width and/or height in pixels. The "Keep proportions" option automatically calculates the other value so the image isn't distorted.

WebP supports both lossy and lossless compression and typically produces a significantly smaller file at comparable visual quality compared to PNG. For detailed images or ones with transparency, the result is usually much lighter than the original.
