Little tricks for everyday life

Having looked at how to make the right choice of home appliances, cleaning, the kitchen, we now turn to something equally practical - little tricks for everyday life. In this post from the series, Grandma did it right! Small Practical Tips." - "Do you know the easiest way to tackle...?" I'll share tips that will help make some of the most tedious tasks at home easier, from ironing and maintaining oak furniture, to dealing with moths and maintaining scissors. The tips are random and don't follow a set order, so everyone can find something useful for themselves! They have been collected from a variety of sources.

Ironing.

If we have burnt the woollen cloth, we can save it by smearing a mixture of soda and water on the burn. Once dry, the spot is carefully brushed.

Combs.

They will be easier to clean if immersed in lukewarm water in which 3 tablespoons of bleach and 3 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda have been dissolved.

Two-piece clothes.

It is good to wash them together. This way they will bleach evenly, shrink and stretch equally.

Oak furniture.

Bring back their freshness and colours by washing them with lukewarm beer. Then dry and polish at the same time with a piece of linen cloth.

The labels from jars and bottles.

To remove them easily from jars, bottles and plastic cans, you need to rub with baby oil.

The key from the cupboard.

If it stinks, it should be cleaned with soapy water and rubbed with wax.

Mosquitoes.

You will get rid of them if you plant a few tomato stalks on the balcony.

The kitchen.

It will smell good if we roast a few dried juniper berries in the oven.

The dishwasher.

The dishes in it should be sorted. The other condition that must be observed is not to fill it to the brim.

Moths.

In order not to attack the clothes in the wardrobe, it is enough to collect some chestnuts and put them near it.

Midges.

They won't land on your home's mirrors and windows if you scrub the glass surfaces with vinegar.

New shoes.

If they squeak, rub them with a cotton rag soaked in rubbing alcohol before putting them on.

Scissors.

They are sharpened by cutting sandpaper with them. It is enough to make 15-20 cuts to become sharp again.

Polishing furniture.

Instead of detergent, can use sun protective cream. The same effect is achieved.

The cheese.

Before we put it in the fridge, it is good to wrap it in tinfoil. In plain paper it dries out.

The bread.

It will not mould easily if a lump of sugar is put in the box in which it is kept. Dry old bread will soften if we steam it for a few minutes on the steaming mat in the pot.

I hope these little tips help you in your daily life and make household tasks easier and more enjoyable. The next post will be dedicated to something we all use on a daily basis - products and their contents. We will look at the benefits of foods like bananas, tomatoes, onions, walnuts and more. Stay tuned for more helpful information that can assist you in choosing healthy and delicious foods for your table!
